The Invasion features the next generation of advancement in core and coverstock technology. Our first goal was to develop a strong asymmetrical design different than any other. The concept was to create contours along the RG planes to ensure a stronger preferred spin axis. We did this by developing intersecting contoured bands from the X-axis along the Y and Z axes. These bands are developed at specific arcs to maximize RG and differential values along the planes. In turn, this translates into a quicker revving core with a more defined moment of inertia or breakpoint unlike any prior design found on the market. The all new Origin core boasts a 2.48 RG value with .057 total differential and a .017 intermediate differential. Using C.A.T.S., we tested the Origin core up against the Shape Lock-HD core with same coverstock to see the differences, and we were amazed by the results. The Origin? core started into the ?hook? phase about 3 feet sooner and created a stronger entry angle to the pocket. Usually when we get the ball started into the ?hook? phase sooner we see less entry angle to the pocket, but this core with the contoured bands along the RG planes definitely showed us something different. The finishing touch to the Invasion is the R3X coverstock. This third generation of Reactor series coverstock has the highest Ra values ever produced by Storm products. Based on the USBC Ball Motion Study we know that higher Ra values produce more ball motion in the oil, and this coverstock is no exception. We saw a 9% increase in friction values in the oil and an increase of 5% down the lane over its predecessor R2X utilizing C.A.T.S. testing.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

The ball worked great for 3 months, but then the hook died on it. Got it resurfaced and still had the weak hook. Went from strike ball to spare ball. I use it every now and then when lanes are rough with a strong shot straight into the pocket. Even with the dead hook, it's still gotten me a 280.

I'm an 190-205 league bowler over the last 10 years, whose average drop to 180's last year.
People told me I needed a new ball. I went looking around and found the Storm Invasion.
This bowl has a great forgiveness when it come to accurecy because of its ability grab on the dry portion of the lane and slide in the oil, plus have drive to finish at the pins. Bowling better this year since I got the ball but the last 15 games have been out of this world averaging 231 with a 277, 279 and 289 last week. Storm I love this ball.

Continuation from previous review "Love It!!!!"
Well, got to use in the league. 203-206-165, I think I was throwing too hard on fresh heavy oil thus it wan't hitting the pocket hard. Decided to play a tight mild swing line and did fine. However, failed to adjust for spares(kept using the old marks) and missed too many. Had a 6 bagger in the second game. Last game the lane was breaking down and should have switched the ball but didn't. Need to practice... NOTE:This ball has the strongest carry I've seen.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and pin location request was spot on. Good price. Thanks,

I bowl on 2 leagues. I'm a mid speed, mid rev, stroker with 190 average. I was in the market for a "First ball out of the bag" ball for a fresh heavy oil. Watching all the Youtube video got me fired up, but was not 100% sure whether I can get it move like that. The pro shop guy (big cranker) has it and recommended it me. Wasn't sure it'll wotk for stroker like me. Many days pondering I got it and had it drilled. OMG, I was shocked what this ball can do! My shot looks like Youtube video shot! I can swings this ball and drives in to the pocket with serious power. I have never stood that far to the left on the aproach. I tried on verious different lines and is very foregiving ball to boot. I'll be bowling on league tommorrow with it and will update the review.

All I can say is WOW! Drilling of this ball was completed in time for me to use on a league night for the third game. Boy, was I empressed with the striking power for this one game. I currently have a 216 average, down slightly from earlier in the season. It was so easy to adjust to this new ball that I can envision a 10 pin improvement in my average real soon. Quite impressive ball.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

I bowled one time with the ball and shot 165, 172, 202 - right lane was about 7 boards different the the left. I am around a 210 - 225 avgerage bolwer in league play. In practice on fresh oil before bowling league started on the same lanes - I was carring like crazy - I was standing left and hiting around 15 to 8 medium speed on the other lane I was standing 7 boards left more and hiting 20 to about 12 thowing about 2miles more per hour. Once league started the shot changed to a dryer condition and by the second and thrid game the oil moved down the lane and then dryed back up. During league play I had 7 big splits, one miss spare. I did not get a double until the third game. I had a total of 12 strikes in which I had seven the last game with one 4 9 spllit. I tried to swing the ball and tried to go up the boards but there was no consitant shot out there. The ball would over react or if I through the ball about 16 - 18 mile per hour the ball would not react. I really dont know how I fell about this ball - I should have put the ball away and went to anouther but I just bought the ball and wanted to stay with it to get use to it. I left at least 9 ten pins strong into the pocket but it was dry on the back ends maybe I could not get the right angle to the pocket to carry. Very upseting this is one of the lowest set I bowled in years. I hit the pocket consitant with no results, also when I made changes or with the lanes changed I got three double pinacles, and two 10 7, one 4 9, one 478 610 slits. Other than that I got all 9 pin fills mostly leaving 10 pins, two 9 pin and one 7 pin. I felt I hit the pocket good enough to bowl maybe 630 but I bowled 537. So maybe the ball is not good for dry condition when you have to get the ball down the lane to hit the pocket? Thanks Sam

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

I bought this to replace a Roto-Grip Rogue Cell and wanted the Invasion as a heavy oil piece. I average around 180 on a league shot and competition shot. I bowl in a high school, and the oil amount ranges from complete hydroplaning to bone dry, so having a ball that reacts in oil to compliment a slightly drier ball. Overall, on a league shot, this ball was really, really gracious. Gave me light pocket strikes if I threw outside, and held itself it I pulled it inside. This is a good ball, however, I was hoping for a few more boards of reaction on a drier league shot. I will update this review as soon as I throw on a regular heavy oil competition shot. Oh, one more thing, the scent is not pleasing. If you buy balls based on scent (who does that?) then this is not the ball for you (not why I removed a star, I want to throw it on heavier oiled lanes before I give it 5 starts).

I am a 27 year old league bowler. For all those who don't know the bowling "lingo" I will lay it out for you. This ball is everything I was looking for. I used to have the Secret Agent but was looking for something to carry more pins. This is the one. I don't throw with a lot of revs but this ball is crazy. Light or heavy or buried the pins just seem to fall. I was a 172 average bowler and with this ball I am in the high 180's. I have only had this ball for a few months but it is everthing you need. Carries pins and is very forgiving. You will be amazed!!!

I was bowling a 180 average before I got this ball. I am now consistent with 650+ series. The ball requires very little adjustment to maintain that strike track. If you have others bowling in your track, you can easily adjust by moving a board over and then you are right back on track. Overall, the ball can improve your game greatly. i would recommend this ball to anyone.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

Love this ball. I went from a skid flip ball to the Invasion.
Drilled 4X4X2 with out of box finish. Standing at the 25 board, throwing over the 13-14 boards at the arrows, tweener release, ball speed 15 to 15.5. The ball would track out to the 5 to 7 board and come back hard into the pocket. If I have a little too much ball speed the ball hits light in the pocket but carries because the ball drives hard into the 5 pin.
I would recommend this ball to most bowlers, although if you already throw a big hook this ball may be too aggressive for you.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

Ok. Invasion arrived Saturday and I was able to have it drilled yesterday. My layout is 3-3/8" pin from axis, 4" from PSA. about a 2" pin buffer. I was looking for a 3-1/2 x 5 x 3 layout, but with switch grip, it was going to be too difficult to get the ball legal for tournament use...

Anyway, this ball is wicked. My normal stance is feet on 22, throwing down 7. I can use this line for most house conditions, with slight adjustments to the left as my track breaks down. My Mutant Cell, I am about 25, throwing over 10, out to 7 or 8 to get reaction to the pocket. With the Invasion, my feet were at 33-34, line was over 16, out to about 5 and it made the move back to the pocket strongly. That is a HUGE change from what I considered a very strong ball in the Mutant Cell.

The reason for the purchase and layout is for the longer PBA patterns, like shark and scorpion. I'll have a chance to try Scorpion on Thursday, but fully expect this ball to move about 5 more boards than my next most aggressive ball.

Cover is left at box (4000 abralon), and I intend to keep it there.

My first series with this ball, fresh off the drill press was a 640, and my normal average is a 185, so, if this holds, the ball should allow me to score better on the slick patterns and raise my average.

From the time on the lanes last night, the ball is very clean through the heads and makes a very strong move to the pocket on the backend. I was able to miss right on the break point and it still came back strong. One shot missed about 6 boards to the right and it hung out on 3 at the break point and still recovered back to the pocket, much to my surprise and delight.

If you are looking for a strong ball for heavy volume oil patterns, you will not be disappointed. However, I believe this ball will not be out regularly for league conditions as it is probably too strong for our 38' THP.

I've been bowling with Storm balls for a few years now. I was about to purchase the Virtual Gravity to replace my Paradigm Passion. Then I learned about the Invasion. Drilled just like my Passion's layout and threw 3 practice games. 237, 245, 218 right out of the box. Very impressed with the way it reads the lane. I intentionally missed right of target and it still came back and ripped the pocket in half. Definitely a great ball, not a skid/flip type, but a strong arcing ball. I throw at 17 mph and a cranker, excellent control.

I have throw nothing but Storm Balls since 2004. Again the Invasion has truly lived up to the hype it was given prior to it's release ! I was very fortunate to get a Invasion with a lot of color to the ball like the Storm Staffers have on T.V. I have my layout 4X4X2 with a weight hole. I bowl 4 leagues and have thrown the Invasion in all leagues and in different houses and merely have had only to make adjustments with moving my feet and am amazed how this ball will turn into the pocket and hit hard !No violent over reaction on the back end ! Thrown the ball for over 2 weeks and have already had 3 series over 700 and a 289 game and lowest series so far with this ball 662. My highest average out of the 4 leagues I bowl is 220 and the lowest 211 ! Love storm equipment and will throw nothing else !

I am just starting to get back into bowling, and thinking about getting in on a league if I can find the time. Before this ball I held ~160 average with a high game of 213. After getting this ball and finding the right line (which took very little time) I had bowled a 181 my first game, and a 234 my second. My low game so far with it is a 179, with the 234 high. I have improved my average to a 185, and I am still trying a few things out. This ball has more power carrying through the pocket than anything I have seen, and an incredible hook. Go buy yourself one.

I,ve been bowling 4 a long time (20Y) and this is my first Storm product, I am Very inpressed with the fogiveness of this ball. Hits like a Mac truck when in the pocket, but still carries on a little light, and a little heavy. 205 book ave. and just got this ball drilled today and shot 762. YOU NEED THIS BALL!!!!!

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

I was between the jigsaw corner (dies pretty fast), bounty hunter (no complaints), and mutant cell (not as aggressive as the invasion). They all have different patterns down the lane, but I knew I wanted something aggressive. This ball is everything and more. I am a 185 avg bowler (usually come in soft and leave the 10) and last night shot 202, 203, and 210. I believe bowling is indicative to the person, release, etc... but this ball is an excellent tool to get the job done.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

I'm a Hammer guy and this is my first Storm ball. All I can say is wow! I bought this ball and took it straight to the lanes. After finding a line in my first game where I rolled a 180 I bowled a 237 and a 221 and I am a 160 average bowler. First night in league play I bowled 180 195 and 190. Left a bunch of single pins that night more my fault than the balls fault. It rolls down the lane great and just demolishes the pins.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

I drilled this 4X4X2 Im in between a cranker and tweener. This ball does not quit you can move as deep as you want and it still will finish. If you tug it, it stays the line. I was really impressed with it the first storm I have ever owned I avg 220 (house shot) 190 on the sport shot...straight out of the box shot 245, 266, 218 for a 729 and was fighting some grip issues the last game with tape.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

I have been in the need of a high performance ball for a while, for long pattern porpouses and this one was the best choice i could ever make! Its amazing at the long pattern,* 43' , 42' ,and 40' * Its great at the back end of the lane and the carrying power when it hits the pins its incredible. The best thing is that it gives you a pretty controblable hook. In the video im bowling in the MEXICO pattern, its the WTBA 43' long pattern...

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

About me:
- 210 average or better since 1999
- 1 300 game, 2 800 series
- 234 book average in 2009

This is the first Storm ball I've owned since the X-Factor Ace back in 2005 or so. You're not going to get the skid/flip as this is a dull surface, but what you will get is great recovery from misses to the right, and a ball that will hold the line if you miss inside. Light, mixing hits carry at a higher percentage than I've ever experienced with a bowling ball. This ball makes a defined turn at the breakpoint and transfers that energy squarely to the pins.

This ball definitely outperforms anything in the 900 Global/AMF line, to include the Bounty Hunter and the AMF Mega Friction.

This is one Invasion you want to be a part of.

*NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with Storm, this is 100% my opinion after using the product.

Comments about Storm Storm Invasion:

Well this is only my 2nd ball. My first ball was the Columbia Action Max. Great ball and love it. But recently wanted a ball with hard powerful hook and this ball does it!!! Honestly, I think the ball looks HORRIBLE but several guys at the pro shop recommended it for me. So I gave in and love it!! All my brothers couldn't believe the back end reaction I was getting with this ball. For the first time ever I was able to break my all time high of 254. First day with the ball and bowled a 273.

This is vary good ball. About 8 boards stronger than my virtual gravity. They are both drilled 3/8 by 3/8. Other than that I must say this balls stinks. When I first opened the box it stunk up my entire living room with the foul odor of stale blueberries.
