Since the release of the Virtual Gravity, Storm has been inundated with positive feedback and inquires of future designs. The combination of the Gravity Shift and Virtual Gravity gave bowlers a look that they had never seen before on heavier oil; mid-lane control with explosive back-end reactions. One of the greatest features is their adaptability on changing back-end motion depending on the layout chosen. Our intent with the Virtual Energy is to utilize the early revving motion and explosive back-end characteristics of the Shape-Lock? HD core, along with the performance proven R2X? coverstock. The coverstock is the key element to this equation and engineering the right blend of solids and pearls to create the perfect compliment to its predecessors. Overview: The testing phase brought several factors into play. We tested several coverstock combinations with the profilometer, as well as, on-lane C.A.T.S. testing. Our goal was to develop a ball that utilizes the best characteristics of its predecessors as well as creating its own unique performance. Our final product is the R2X? Hybrid. The combination of the two pearls and a solid reactive delivers the perfect fit within our product line. The solid generates just enough mid-lane read on the heavier volume patterns, while the two pearlized parts deliver the strong motion on the back-end. The Virtual? Energy is the perfect complement to Storm?s Premier line of bowling balls.

Have had since available on bowling.com. It seems to get better and better. This is my 3rd league with this ball and I've had 3 700 series this league the last one was 12/12 748 total, my highest ever. Great ball seems to be very flexible with lane changes.

This is ball is great!!! I drill my ball for long late cute. I choose this ball from reviews and long study of different balls (took like three months). I have a brunswick ultra zone(my first real bowling ball), but it was kind of tuff to use cuz if you dont add enough finger in the follow through it doesnt hook (have to really work it)! But the Virtual Energy is very forgiving ball, its like create its own action as it reaches of the lane. Even if mess up my release it tends to hook it self little effort!

Comments about Storm Storm Virtual Energy:

I would consider myself a consistent league bowler currently avg 194. I have always used 16 lbs balls and bought 16bls storm virtual energy. The ball has a great feel and closes very well even as the lanes begin to break down. The one thing i would however note, (I have only bowled 6 games with it 218,195, 181,237,185,179) I left more 10 pins then i ever have. I would and should have seriously considered a 15lbs ball, as i understand through my reading that the closing angle of the ball coupled with its weight truly creates this leave. I am now working on adjusting speed to compensate in later games for this break down. From what i understand, a 15lbs ball would have been a better choice. I would consider myself a tweener with a ball speed measured at the pins of 16.5.

Comments about Storm Storm Virtual Energy:

When the lanes are spotted, fried, or shredded, this is the best ball for me to go too. I can use it on fresh patterns too. It has tremendous power and versatility, and it is very forgiving. The reason I rated it 4 stars is because this ball leaves me a record high number of corner pins. Leaving 10 pins (I'm a right hander) is part of the game and normal, but leaving just as many 7 pins as 10 pins is definitely NOT normal. However I managed to shoot my 2nd 288 game with this ball although it was disappointing because I've had nothing but consistent pocket shots and left the 7 pin twice. As bowlers say the 10 pin is the right hander's worst enemy, this ball tells me the 7 pin is my enemy.

Comments about Storm Storm Virtual Energy:

I am left handed and throw from the 10th board in. This ball takes that space and eats it up. It comes in like a lightning bolt and strikes up the pin action. Its forgiving a board or two if you miss your mark it makes up for it with additional or less performance. If you are a league bowler looking to make the leap to better league bowler with potential to enter tournaments and win you will need this ball.

Comments about Storm Storm Virtual Energy:

This ball has a great roll and shreds racks like crazy. Only problem i have had with it is that it just hooks and stops instead of going long with a huge backend. It wont recover that well if u miss your target more than 3 boards.A couple of my friends had the same problem with theirs and already traded them.Overall, i like the roll and carry power of the energy, but the reaction is inconsistent.

this is good ball. when thrown right can really carry pins all the way to strikes. i have this bowling ball at 14 lbs and it is good enough for me. i would love to have this as a 16lb bowling ball but i can only carry a 14lb ball do to me only being 13 yrs old. when i received this ball it has increased my average from 135 to 146 but it only went up by that much because it was towards the end of my league. for example insted of me bowling my average in the last 4 weeks since i only bowl on saturday i had about a 167 average. thank for another great bowling ball storm!!!

My old ball cracked and I bought the STORM Energy. The ball will get down the lane and really hooks to the pocket. You can't look at the pins and try to throw it in the pocket. If you hit the right spot for you, It will give you a big hook at the end and carry through to sweep the pins. You just have to trust the ball and let it do the job. Great Ball.

I am a pretty good bowler averaging around 216 and I am in the military so just recently got back into bowling and was using Storm Core Power for the past 7 years and still held my average of 216 but tonight I finally got my ball drilled and used it an hour afterwards in a 9-pin tourny just for fun. Basically with this ball there was no need for it to be a 9-pin tourny because I averaged 240 over 5 games of which only 5 weren't real. This ball has maximum forgiveness whether your throw it outside or in it will find and destroy the pocket. Best pin action I have seen as well. Once again Storm hasn't let me down.

as a 160 bowler, i was looking to upgrade to a more aggressive backend ball. let me tell you this ball is everything it says it is. the first game i rolled with it was 8k's i finished with a 595, the following week i rolled a 690, and this week 647...this ball hits with tremendous power, pins explode as it hits pocket, also i can keep same line throughout the night with only slight adjustments. i can now compete with with the really good bowlers here on long island.

All I can say is wow!!! This ball hooks and hit a ton. I am not a spot bowler, I just throw to an area. I am right handed and stand 5-10 boards left of center on the approach, throw is somewhere between the 5 and 10 board and this ball will find the pocket, it is very forgiving. I carried a 220 average last year and was down around 200 after 7 weeks, with the virtual Energy I shot a 749 and 793 the past two weeks.

Beware of adding rubber grips. Thumb hurts from throwing. But it's like buying new shoes. It has to be broken in. I was told to develop a new throwing habit. This may be the problem. Bowling in a PBA experience shot with gutter-to-gutter heavy oil, this ball showed its strong back end, playing between 8 and 18. In over 40 years of bowling, this ball is even better than the Angle was in it's day. Thanks for the keys Larry! Tom K. Spartanburg, SC

Comments about Storm Storm Virtual Energy:

This ball reads the midlane exceptionally well to be a pearlized ball; mostly due that it has a hybrid cover. This is a must have; especially if you have the Virtual Gravity; which compliments this ball beautifully!!
