Set your game on fire with the QZ2 Backdraft for light to medium oil. The Quadfire core is engulfed by the Fire Pearl and Solid Black MOTIVator-Z Reactive Hybrid shell. Adding fuel to the fire, the 2000 polished finish has an increased Ra value to read the lane slightly earlier and cover more total boards than the original QZ2. Still, the QZ2 Backdraft gets through the heads cleanly and displays excellent backend motion.

Comments about Motiv QZ2 Backdraft:

I am not going to go into specifics on how the ball was drilled or other fancy numbers. The plain facts are I took this ball out of the box and shot a 640 during league play. The shot started out with light oil and the ball ate it up. As it began to broke down a little the ball continued to perform extremly well. It hit the pocket hard. The third game it really dried out but rather than switch I stuck with the backdraft to see what it would do. It continued to hit the pocket hard and if it weren't for me missing 3 spares I would have hit a duece. All in all this ball really was awesome and did all the things the other reviewers says it does.

Bowler Stats-Ball Speed 17 MPH Rev Rate-App 300 Axis of Rotation-30 to 60 degrees Axis Tilt 20 degrees Right Handed

The QZ2 BackDraft is designed for light to medium oil patterns. The ball performs as advertised. It pushes through the heads with ease as on fresh shots as well as heads that are getting thin on the oil. The ball does little reving in the midlane, but as soon as the ball hits friction it begins to read When the friction is found you can visually see the ball rev (thanks to the Neomark graphics) up making it easy to identify the current breakpoint. The change in direction is not as sharp as the Cruel LE but still plenty strong enough to generate sufficient angle into the pocket to carry. I am able to use the BackDraft playing both down the boards, swinging it out to the dry, or playing deep but not far right. The ball recovers very well making an aggressive move when it encounters friction. When the volume in the heads is above the norm, the Backdraft will "squirt" through the breakpoint at times and also will leave weak corner pins when the ball is not able to complete the transition to a roll. As long as the Backdraft does not have excessive head and midlane oil it is a very effective ball. In comparison to the original QZ1 and QZ2 the ball picks up a little earlier (due to the hybrid coverstock) and the total hook is about 2 boards more then the original QZ's. I have been able to play straight up 5 as well as playing deep and swing it wide and still carry.

The Backdraft does not seem to have a surface preference as it reacted well on all surfaces.

If you use this ball as designed on shorter or lighter oil patterns, it is a very effective ball. To throw it on a fresh THS or a longer Sport Condition with a few games will take very good ball speed and rev rate control,.

The Backdraft gives Motiv a piece of equipment for Motiv believers to step up from the the original QZ's without having to go to the SR2.. I'm very colorblind but I've heard from multiple bowlers that the ball is very pleasing to the eye and will give it good shelf appeal.

This is due to the hybrid cover and factory finish (original QZ2 is 4000 polished). The midlane roll has a smooth transition into the back part of the lane for a nice controlled motion to the pocket. Since this ball is suited for light to medium oil it is my first choice when playing on typical house patterns. The attractive two-tone red pearl and solid black cover along with the gold pearl lettering makes this ball a stand out from the rest of the pack … but the color isn't the only attractive feature, it's the striking ability that this ball contains that will keep this ball out of your bag. Comments about Motiv QZ2 Backdraft:

WOW! I have had this ball for a month and I still can't believe how strong it is. I love the QZ1 Red and the QZ2 Blk/Blue these balls go everywhere with me. My benchmark ball was the SR2 @ 4000 w/polish, but now it's the new "Backdraft". I have used in our scratch trios league the last 4 weeks, this ball finishes in the middle of the pit 90% of the time. We have already sold several of them and our customers love them. This ball is very clean through the fronts and smooth off the spot giving you great mid lane reaction as it makes it's move to the pocket. It's a pocket pounding ball for sure, this ball hits HARD. What is most impressive about this ball is the way it goes through the pin deck, hard and strong with very little deflection.DavidPBA MemberMember Motiv Staff[@]

The new QZ2 Backdraft still clears the heads nicely. But it has abetter midlane reaction than the QZ2 Blue. The Backdraft revs sooner than the QZ2.The hybrid cover greatlyhelps in this area of the lane. The stronger midlane read of theBackdraft helps to control the backend reaction, allowing thisball to be less jumpy at the backend. The ball motion from the midlane to the end of the pattern is morecontinuous and less flippy. The reaction at the breakpoint is heavyarcing and not as skid flip as the QZ2 Blue. The total hook of the Backdraft throughout the entire lane is morethan the QZ2 Blue. The Backdraft gets about 1-1.5' less length than the QZ2 Blue. The Backdraft is more forgiving, which gave me more miss roomto the right and still get good recovery. And if I missed left,it wouldhold the line.Giving me good tug area. The Backdraft is a great control ball. This ball is now my THS ball.Get MOTIVated.Go MOTIV Today.Angela Wilt-MOTIV Staff Member
