First off I would like to say that I am a somewhat new bowler. I started throwing a hook about 18 months ago when I joined my first league of my life. The ball I started with and used the entire time I have been bowling is a storm sure fire. With the storm ball my average is a consistant 170, which is my league average. I bought my motiv cruel 3 weeks ago and have used it the last 2 weeks in my league. In my life I have had 3 600 series, my highest game ever was 266. The first week with the cruel I bowled a 590 which is great for me, I had no prior practice before the league with the ball. The second try with this amazing ball was a whole different story. First game 203, second game was my best ever with a 268, and I finished strong with a 225 to give me a whopping 696 series. To me I feel like this ball doesn't care whether the oil is heavy or dry it finds the pocket as long as I'm hitting my line. I definately recommend motiv for anyone who is looking for an upgrade, especially new bowlers like myself.

i bowl for my high school team. i am a senior now and i have been using a 14lb storm tropical for my first 3 years. my average from last year was a 179. we just started practicing on monday. i got the ball last week and my scores on monday were a 184, 246, 193, and 272. i roll the ball hard down the lane and i love how the ball can pick up the oil and break into the pocket. great ball deffinatly worth buying and you will find out why.

Comments about Motiv Cruel C51 Black/Smoke Pearl:
Got back in to bowling after a lay off of 15 years, I know I needed a new ball and did some research. Picked up this ball from Motive and first night out it responded. I used to be a 155 average, first night out 211, 272, 226. what a great ball. Had it drilled according to the sheet that comes in the box for Med-hook and get tons of action at the pins, it just drives into the pocket and on miss-hits still drives with velocity. I have actually ordered my second motive ball. Thank you for making such a great product.

Comments about Motiv Cruel C51 Black/Smoke Pearl:
My game has picked up tremendously. The ball does and goes whereever I send it. I am bowling more strikes and picking up once difficult spares with ease. I had it drilled for a low hook, and it is performing exactly as I envisioned it. I am very happy with this ball.

Comments about Motiv Cruel C51 Black/Smoke Pearl:
The Cruel has some of the best finish on the mid and end of the lane. Great for crankers, tweeners, and strokers. Depending on the variability of the drilling for fit this is the best ball i have ever had. With in the first week of use i had 2 279's and nothing less than 200. Motiv is the best company by far to go with and I will continue to use the brand because of the look and the finish through the pocket

Comments about Motiv Cruel C51 Black/Smoke Pearl:
I am just your ordinary 198 house bowler who was looking for something completely different than I normally use. I tend to be a down and in type but wanted to be more versatile. This ball allows me to open up my game and it comes back hard. I shot a 605 out of the box with no practice and honestly if not for user error could have easily been around 650. This isn't a technical review like most post up but again I have only been bowling 4 years so that part of the game is still confusing to me. If your looking for something that hooks on any oil than this will work out great. It took a move by me once it dried out a bit but the ball still ran great. My best game was the third one so it held up to the typical house shot very well I thought.

I've been using a Quantum Pro Active, which i think is a good ball...I then decided to go CRUEL, and what a difference. I'm a lefty and drilled a strong layout with the pin up. This ball rolls strong, hooks like a monster, and hits like a freight train. The pin action i can get from this ball is amazing compaired to my Quantum. I'm a 150 average, and first 2 games.....209 - 201....out of box surface. I love this ball and it's a must have!

I knew the moment that i opened the box that this was going to be awesome. Went straight to the ally to throw it. I threw a 233,188,244.. And I'm a 160 avg.. If you hit anywhere near the pocket it's going to be a strike,,, Love this ball and can't wait till Feb to see the new one that comes out.. I'm a motiv believer!!!

Comments about Motiv Cruel C51 Black/Smoke Pearl:
I'm not going to bore you with my drilling layouts, your ball driller will know what to do for your game.I put my favorite asymmetric lay out I put in all first drills, then I make adjustments from there. This is not just a heavy oil ball, it is very versatile, handles the fresh well, handles carry down very well, handle PBA volumes well. I just got back from a tournament, I used this ball in 13 of 15 games, and went 11-3-1 in match play, that's how versatile this ball is. After every match people were talking about this ball. I didn't even make big moves, just small adjustments. Like all the MOTIV equipment you are really throwing a freight train when it hits the pins. You'll carry 1-2 more strikes than you should, I call them MOTIV strikes. Put one in your bag, it won't stay there long. The price point is good for a ball this GREAT!DavidPBA MemberMember MOTIV Staff[...]USBC Certified Coach

Review:
If you bowl on medium to heavy oil patterns this bowling ball is a must. 45 X 5 ¼ X 45 ball works best on medium conditions where the pin down ball dominates on heavy oil. I have also been able to play with the pin up ball on house conditions but when the pattern transitions the Motiv QZ2 comes out of the bag. The 60 X 5 X 35 is the strongest in the back part of the lane giving me 2 to 3 more boards of roll off the hook spot. This ball was a must in the Motiv line since now it can compete with those other companies in the high-end aggressive coverstock market. Now all that is needed from Motiv is an aggressive asymmetrical pearl and oh yes a spare ball!

This is the first ball out of my bag. It's great for medium to oily conditions, but can be used on dryer lanes, too. Great throwing ball with tons of control.

Comments about Motiv Cruel C51 Black/Smoke Pearl:
this ball is a must have. i just joined motivnation with their recon rx-1 with is also a must have.stats: 15mphrevs: 265tilt: 14axis: 70i bough this bal for longer oil patterns. since i dont have a lot of speed or revs i went for a ball maxed out like htis one, and put wahts considered an average layout. no to strong.i laid it out 55x4x30 with a p4 hole which ended up being 1 1/2 right of my thunmb which is considered a double thumb. a 1" hole 3" deep pitched 3/4 right.this ball stores its energy and makes a late mid lane shift, then turns direction and drives right threw the pins. great energy, great pin action, barely deflect.this is their first assym, ball and hybrid cover and this ball is better than my c system 3.5 by far, and better than my Hammer Jacked which i still love and kicks butt. If you havent thrown motiv now is the time to switch. DO IT!! check out my video on this [@]

Bowler Stats-Ball Speed 17 MPH Rev Rate-App 280 Axis of Rotation-30 to 60 degrees Axis Tilt 9 degrees Right Handed
The Recon RX1 ball was designed for light and short oil patterns. The ball is as advertised. It pushes through the heads with ease as long as it can find a trace of oil. When the ball finds friction it makes a smooth yet continuous move to the pocket. I was able to use the RX1 playing both down the boards as well as swinging it out to the dry. The ball recovered well, but not in a skid flip manner and as you can tell from the attached video, kept the pins low when the pocket was hit.
If you use this ball as designed, that is on patterns that are either short (less than 37 feet) or broken down by league or tournament play, it will be a very effective ball. To throw it on a fresh THS (Typical House Shot) will take someone with much more hand than I have.
The RX1 gives Motiv a piece of equipment for Motiv believers to step down to when their QZ1's are too much, and it will complete very effectively with other companies mild/dry lane/short shot balls. I'm very colorblind but my daughters think the Orange Ball and the Neomark Graphic makes the ball very pleasing to the eye and will give it good shelf appeal.

The C51-Cruel is the newest entry in the MOTIV
line-up,and the first asymmetric ball from MOTIV.
The all new C51 :Cruel core offers a 2.,48 rg,and a .060
differential with a .030 mass bias differential.
Covering the core is a all new coverstock the Formula 5
reactive hybrid, the first ever hybrid cover from MOTIV.
The color is black/smoke with blood red graphics with
white lettering. The colors are visually eye pleasing.
The cover comes OOB at 2000 wet sanded.
The intent of the C51 is for medium to heavy oil.
The benefits of a asymmetrical core
The asymmetrical core will give you a shorter transition. The
Cruel core allows the ball to get into a roll quicker and easier.
The asymmetrical core of the Cruel is great for lane conditions
that has slicker midlanes.
Medium and lower rev players will love this ball when the
area past the midlane point is not reacting enough.
Higher rev players can use the Cruel for control on the back end
where there is a little more friction in the midlanes.
The C51 goes into a roll quicker, and will not break as hard
and sharp through the pin area. This offers control when needed
for higher rev players.
What I got from the Cruel was a ball that revs up early and hard in the midlanes ,but cleared the heads
easily because of the hybrid cover.I got about 5" of flare
from both drillings. The Cruel was at it's best from the mids
to the pins.It had a very quick response when it come in contact
with dry at the backend of the patterns. The length was very
nice from such a powerful core. The reaction and the ball shape
at the backend of the pattern was very heavy and angular.
The recovery down lane was very impressive, the amount
of area the Cruel creates will allow you to miss right, and
still have enough energy left to make it back to the pocket.
The Cruel let me play a more angular line to the pocket.I
could more further left and still have enough energy left
to make it back to the pocket. For me this is a very welcome sight.
The Cruel ate up the R/W/B patterns. On the house shot,
just hit the pocket and carry was far and above anything
I have seen in a long time.
For those of you that have tried MOTIV ,you will really
be impressed with the Cruel. For those that have been
waiting for a ball of this type.Well now is the time to try MOTIV.
