Coming out of the box and the first 12 times bowling with it I thought what a great ball.Before I purchased this ball I was a 195Ave bowler with an old ebonite Turbo X I wanted to improve my game big mistake. the Sting no matter what I have done has no more snap in the back.I tried to work with this ball now for 2 years I am ready to go back to my old Ebonite and throw this one away!!

This ball is a Bad production for Hammer.
It does not finish well at all.
I have a Black Widow, and Pearl Hammer both are very nice, but not this one. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Truly is a great ball. At first I heard a lot about how this ball dies out after roughly 30 or so games. However, I've bowled at least 60 games with it thus far, wiping it every other frame, and it's still hooking like crazy. Apparently, those complaints were due to lack of ball maintenance. Other problem is if you throw this ball out too far, it will turn HARD and likely leave you a 7-10 split due to deep angularity. During the fall season, I've rarely shot below a 200 game with this ball. During summer, I have to put this ball away because it hooks too hard, but that's okay because it will retain its power for the next fall season :)

I really like the way this ball comes off my hand. This ball hits really hard. Excellent pin action. The pins just fly all over the place. The ball does really well when I am high in the pocket. Not quite as fortunate when I am light in the pocket.

side note....this ball has a high oil absorbtion rating. The ball will lose it's hook over time faster than most balls.

i got this ball a month ago took some getting used to it but now i wouldnt trade it for any other ball out there..... i went from a 140 bowler to a mid 200 in just a week of using it this ball hooks like theres no tomorrow again i love it

i used to bowl around 150 average but with this ball it hooks purfect my average is 175 to 200 a game now it really hooks in the back end it looks like it going to the gutter but it sudddently hooks and gets a strike i do this all the time now

Got ball drilled pin down cg kicked a lil. Wanted this ball to read the mid-lane and give me a predictable hard arc. Wow ball carries like a champ just what i needed. Way to go Hammer!

Great ball right out of the box, this ball has crazy back end movement. I have only used it twice so far and still learning how to control the hook. I would not recommend to someone just starting off or learning to throw a hook. But for a big hooker this is a ball to go with!

FIRST TIME GOT AHOLD OF THIS BALL 245 OUT THE BOX. THIS BALL HAS GREAT PIN ACTION WHEN IT HITS THE POCKET. BEEN BOWLING 600'S EVERY WEEK WITH THIS BALL AND 1 700 IN LEAGUE PLAY AND A 713 IN TOURNAMENT. THIS BALL IS GREAT.

I like Hammer, I use the Beat No Mercy and the Anger (the best ball I've ever owned) - both of which have been discontinued. I got the Sting after the Anger in order to get a more aggressive hook. It started out real aggressive - I kept hitting Brooklyn, but then there was no more hook left after I spent a few weeks of practice before using it in my league.

I love this bowling ball. I bowl in a league and have been using the Columbia Freeze, which i like. However, I have been averaging a 170 give or take. I bowled with the sting for the first time in my league last night and bowled a 606 series. I believe this will only improve since the ball felt great and grabbed the lane very well. Great ball! If you are looking for an agressive ball this is it. Can be too aggressive if you are off your mark at times. Works great on heavy oil patterns!

I bowl three different houses and have used the black widow balls for years. Also have a Jigsaw and a Storm Invasion. This ball Is a great ball and lives up to the Hammer name. I just hope it doesn't die out like my Jigsaw did.

This is my 1st year of bowling seriously and can shoot 200 games no prob with this ball. I shot a 734 series 2 weeks after owning this ball. Hammer all the way!!!

Picked up a sting a couple of weeks ago. Had a pro from Hammer suggest the best layout for my style of bowling. Threw a few practice games and then bowled in a league for the first time in about 17 years. Bowled a 600 series. Could have done even better but I needed to adjust the thumb hole and didn't have what I needed with me. I love the way the ball reacts. It crushes the pocket.

I just used my Sting last week and out of the 3 I own, the Sting is the most aggressive! This ball compensates for how I throw with a low rev rate, and snaps hard to the pocket!
Just what I need for the medium oiled lanes!

I Only use the widows. I have all 6 and love everyone of them. I have them all drilled different for all types of oil patterns. The Sting works great gets down the lane very easy and true to it's name hits like only a HAMMER Can!!!

This ball was great out of the box! I bowl on a Varsity team and this ball was a great upgrade to start. A few months later, the ball just wouldn't finish. It got far too picky, and simply wouldn't return in the drier part of the lanes. Tried baking, twice, finished it to a 1k grit, to name a couple. Got so sick of it, I ordered a different ball. Nice out of the box, but burned out FAST!

this is the best ball i have ever used, it has an amazeing hook and it hit rite in the pocket. my average is a 175 . my first day using it i hit 236 nd a 242 no problem!!!

I am a big black widow fan and have been using the Bite and shooting in the high 180's. I saw the Sting and had to have it. Well I bowled 244 right out of the box. The next day I bowled six games and averaged 200+. What a ball!!!!

I bought this ball because i'm a fan of the Black widow series since the pearl, and this ball is the best yet. The hook on this ball is so incredible i have to really slide it out there to hit pocket, and it always hits with the force of a rampaging bull. I love it. Well worth the cost.

I absolutely love this addition to the widow line. Hold well through the middle of lane, but has ability to recover when miss outside. Very versitile. Aslong as you get it near the pocket its gonna carry all ten. Drilled mine skid/ flip already shot one 300, five 700's, and twice 750+. And only had it 3 weeks.

If this ball gets anywhere the pocket all ten will fall.the only proboblem i have with it is i cant pick the 10 pin.
