Before this ball, I had a 10+year old Zone ball that was a hand-me-down. I got the Venom drilled properly and wow! What a difference!

In general, I am more of an outside lane bowler and I was struggling to get my ball to hit the pocket. I usually set up on the second to the last dot on the right and aimed in between the middle of the far right arrows. Sometimes it would hit the pocket and most of the time it would hook way too early. Brooklyn! I tried the typical, bowling slower or moving up/back but nothing produced any consistent results.

I finally started to experiment and one day I decided to set up 1 board left of center and throw my ball in between the center and 1 board over. Since this was so new to me, I thought for sure my ball was going to...

1. go in the gutter or
2. hit just the 10 pin

to my surprise it aggressively hooked back, slammed into the pocket and put a smile on my face as I watched all that pin action! Immediately after I made the aforementioned adjustment, I bowled a 168, 199 and 182!

Don't be afraid to try different set ups and see what works best for you with this new ball. I can't wait to hit the lanes again.

This is the most consistant and forgiving ball on any lane condition. It has good backend hook.

Generally very pleased with this ball, though it can be a little sensitive. Ball thrives on medium oil and is surprisingly unaffected by heavier oil conditions... but it's a runaway missile on dry lanes. Can be tough to control in Game 3 if the oil pattern has been moved around a lot. Ball also requires more surface maintenance (cleaning, buffing, etc.) than my last few balls, and the performance level drops off very quickly as it gets dirty. But, take care of the ball and keep it off dry lanes and it will treat you well. Good carry-down and a pretty forgiving ball for those who don't have pinpoint accuracy.

im a league bowler at a local alley that has changed over to synthetic lanes and this ball answers every time, it hits the pocket hard every time (nothing hits like a hammer) and produces great pin action. ive been bowling for over 20 years and have never bowled a 600 set first night out of the box i rolled a 634 second week 580, and 3rd week 714, this ball is great

Ball is a good ball. I have had it for about a year now. Pro's great in heavy oil, nice backend. Bad for light oil, I do throw alot of curve if your like me wouldn't recamend for medium-light oil. Also in first 3months had some chipping and fading of surface only problem i've incounterd may be ally's fault or my own but giving the heads up. Still a great ball all around for the price

Bowled with this ball for the first time 2 days in my league and improved my total series by 60 pins......This ball just demolishes the pins even if you throw a bad shot.....kills the oil. However with that said this ball goes crazy wants the lanes dry up. But if your on some oil this ball is the perfect ball HANDS DOWN

Tonight was the first time I bowled with this ball in my League and I bowled 26 pins over my average each game!! This ball has wicked back end movement and gets down the lane great......Watch out though when the lanes dry out because this ball HOOKS HARD!! Great ball though you wont be dissapointed

Every time I threw this ball the back end simply dissappears. I purposely threw to miss and still had only one to three pins to pick up! This ball makes bowling easy!

This ball does wonders. My first 300 game and 700 series were shot with this monster. Very forgiving, even if you are wide right or left of your shot it holds pocket and keeps the pins low for great reactions. My house has a problem with ringing 10's and this ball can carry the 10 pin like a new mother and her infant. Have had it since day one and still use it to this day. Make sure to take care of the cover stock as it wears down fast but can be re-polished and be good as new.

I've had this ball for a few months now and must say that this ball is amazing. Just because this ball is a "pearl" it doesn't mean that the hook is weaker. In fact, I suggest using this on an oily pattern. Just the length is awesome, carry down isn't a problem with this ball, and the carry is great too. When the lanes start to break down, I bust this ball out and throw this ball outside a board or 2, and it'll still come back and hit with a flush pocket strike. First time with this ball, shot a 768 series; my average is 192. Play the outside or the middle, swing it out or straight up, this ball is work.

This ball is awesome. I had a hard time getting my Black Widow Bite down to the pins. The Venom carries a lot further then kicks in a huge backside. I love my ball!!!!
